Position summary

Reporting to the Vice-President, Operations and Finance, the incumbent is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling the activities of the optimization and installation project groups. This person represents the organization in dealings with customers and partners, and acts as an expert in the marketing of projects. The manager exercises leadership to build and mobilize a team of professionals aligned with the organization’s objectives. This person sees to their development and to the optimization of the business practices and processes of his/her unit, which is called upon to grow significantly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the two project groups (Installation and Optimization) in order to mobilize and develop the team’s skills.
  • Act as an energy efficiency expert, supporting sales and actively promoting the team’s skills and portfolio to the installed base.
  • In collaboration with the VP Operations, define the work methods of the project management office and ensure that they are aligned with financial and operational requirements.
  • With the help of the VP Sales, assess the business potential for projects of different sizes/natures.
  • Build a draft sales plan, including the human and material efforts required for its progressive execution.
  • Meet and build relationships with key market players (customers, subcontractors, potential partners).
  • In collaboration with the Vice Presidents (Operations & Sales), build a business plan to progressively increase the size and scope of the project department as projects are rolled out.
  • Ensure consistency and division of tasks among the people under his/her responsibility.
  • Help create relevant KPIs for a highly ambitious growth context.

Requirements and skills / Profile sought

  • Excellent knowledge of the energy efficiency and HVAC industries.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience, including four (4) years in a management position.
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Spoken and written bilingualism is an asset.
